Use case

A daily briefing on the one topic you actually follow

Pick the topic. PodThis checks what is new, writes a short script and voices it, on the schedule you set. About ten minutes, ready before you leave the house.

What you type

The Swedish housing market — interest rates, new builds, what the banks are saying

  1. Name the topic

One line: an industry, a market, a league, a company, a city. The briefing follows it from then on.

  2. Pick the rhythm

Every day, weekdays or weekly, and the time it should be ready. Weekdays at 07:00 is the default.

  3. Listen

The first episode generates right away. Each one after that covers only what changed since the last.

What a briefing is

Daily Briefing is one of the nine styles in the studio, like Documentary or Interview, with one difference: it runs on a schedule. You give it a topic once. Before each episode the pipeline researches what has happened since the previous one and writes the script around that, with an explicit instruction not to re-explain the basics from earlier episodes.

Episodes default to Short, about ten minutes, because that is what a commute or a coffee fits. The research is done with Google Gemini and the sources it used are listed on the episode page.

Every day, weekdays or weekly

  • Weekdays is the recommended rhythm for anything that moves during the working week: a sector, a market, a competitor set.
  • Every day suits fast news, a live tournament, an election run-up.
  • Weekly keeps slower topics meaty. A quiet subject on a daily schedule gets thin; weekly gives it seven days of material.

You choose a “ready by” time between 06:00 and 17:00 in your own time zone. The episode is produced ahead of it and waits in your library. The rhythm and the time can be changed later, and a briefing can be paused and resumed, from your plan settings. The topic is fixed per briefing; a new topic is a new briefing.

What it costs

Your first five briefing episodes are free on any plan. After that a briefing episode costs about one credit. Weekdays comes to roughly 22 credits a month, which fits the Creator plan at $9. Weekly is about 4 credits a month and fits the free plan with its 3 monthly credits plus rollover. If a plan runs out of credits the briefing pauses rather than failing; you resume it once credits renew. See pricing.

Good to know

  • Briefings are available in the same 80 languages as every other style.
  • Each episode is a normal PodThis episode: chapters, a transcript, cover art, an MP3 download. You choose whether it is private, unlisted or public.
  • Briefing episodes are not reviewed by a person before you hear them. Read the editorial policy for what is and is not checked.
